Late Season At The Water Park
Hey, folks! Welcome back to Suitcase Princess. I’m Shanna, and if you’re new here, we’re a homeschooling family of four who loves to encourage you to get out of the house, have fun with your kids, and make the most of your family adventures. Today, I want to talk to you about our recent visit to Schlitterbahn New Braunfels as we wind down the 2023 season.
Your support means the world to us. And remember, you can always find me in the comments or connect with us on Instagram at @suitcaseprincess.
What’s New at Schlitterbahn?
So, Schlitterbahn has seen some changes recently. It’s now operated by Cedar Fair, which means there have been a few adjustments. One change worth noting is their cooler size policy. While they had strict cooler size limitations before, on our latest visit, we noticed some mega coolers that seemed to defy those measurements. It could be that they’ve eased up on this policy or made exceptions due to busy days. Either way, it’s something to keep an eye on.
Late Summer Pass Deal
Schlitterbahn has a fantastic late summer deal where you can purchase your 2024 season pass now and get the rest of the current season included. It’s currently priced at $95. So, if you’re planning on visiting Schlitterbahn next year, this could be a great way to save some money.
Park Updates and Closures
During our visit, we experienced a few changes and ride closures. For instance, Hillside was closed due to ongoing construction and should reopen for the 2024 season. This was a bummer because Hillside is a family favorite.
Special Moments
One of the highlights of our visit was riding “The Falls,” one of Schlitterbahn’s iconic rides. It’s typically one of the first to close due to staffing issues, so we were thrilled to catch it before the season’s end.
Raging River and Summer Crowds
As for Raging River, it can be a bit of a mixed bag. In the morning, we tend to enjoy it with relatively short lines. However, as the afternoon rolls around, the lines grow quite long, possibly due to Hillside being closed and diverting visitors to Raging River. We waited on this visit for almost exactly an hour.
Exciting Changes for 2024
Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels has some exciting changes in store. They’re planning to introduce a brand-new kids’ play area in the old section of the park, complete with a play structure and a kids’ water coaster. So, if you’re considering a season pass, this could be an excellent reason to invest in one.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, late summer at Schlitterbahn offers a unique experience. The crowds are usually thinner, and you can often enjoy shorter lines for your favorite rides. However, be prepared for potential ride closures, especially if you visit later in the day.
We didn’t even get into everything Schlitterbahn has to offer, but hopefully, this late-season update gives you a good idea of what to expect. You can always reach out to me in the comments or connect on Instagram at @suitcaseprincess.
